For Jon. At last.

Seeing my guy’s excitement on Saturday when his quilt came off the frame was heartwarming. He’s been so patient.

There’s just so much that I love about this quilt. The improv block technique that Katie dreamed up and we played with last fall on a mini-retreat with Noelle, the Essex Linen (in this case yarn-dyed black) that’s a joy to work with,

a new set of pattern boards that coordinated perfectly, wool batting that gave it crazy stitch definition,

the check fabric binding that was a special request,

and the perfect backing fabric that I swear I found long after the blocks were made.

They don’t often come out exactly the way you see it in your head. Just wish I could hand stitch the binding a little faster.
