Weekend Wrap-Up

This weekend more than made up for the chaotic January and February quilt retreats. It was wonderfully productive, not only in the amount of work accompished, but also because I finished so many things.

TWO more quilt tops for the stack, two quilts with binding attached and ready for handwork, bee blocks and a guild block and an itty bitty dress for the girls.

I even made good progress on the tutorial for April’s Bee There or Bee Square block, and emptied another project box (which I will promptly refill now that I’m home.)

All that while spending time with some of my favorite women. What could be better? (Okay, maybe not having to wait until October for the next retreat!)

Note: Moulin Rouge is certainly crazy, but I can’t capture it properly with my little camera. There’s just too much happening for it to process. I’ll have to get Jon’s help when the quilting is done. I will say that the general reaction, mine included, is surprise (shock) at how it came out. It’s fun and funky and just what I needed for the wall behind my quilting machine. For now, anyway.

I’m loving Moulin Rouge! How on earth will you quilt it? I’d be tempted to keep it simple and just let the awesome fabrics tell the story. The black sashing is perfect 😀
