11.6 Bee Blocks and Swaps (Part One)

I’m really enjoying my quilting bees, and I think whether you’re a new quilter or a more experienced one, there’s a lot of fun to be had. Tuesday night I put these little blocks together for Jenn and the bee there or bee square group. There are 7 blocks – aren’t the mermaids adorable?

November {Modern 12} Bee is Tracy’s block. She chose a modified Irish Chain. I can’t wait to see the finished quilt – it’s hard to beat black and white for pure punch:

I have one more block to do when Megan’s fabric arrives. November is my month for the Pins & Needles Bee. I’m trying something different for my design, and I’m really excited to see what my group comes up with. I’ve also started the blocks for the [3 x 6] Sampler Quilt Mini Bee – but I won’t share those until later in the month (Part Two).

Today is a Seattle Modern Quilt Guild Sew-in ~ so don’t miss tomorrow’s post. There’s bound to be mischief afoot….not to mention a finished Hexagon quilt top!
