11.1 NaBloPoMo (Say that 10 times fast!)

I’m taking the NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) challenge – a blog post every day for the month of November. Anyone who’s spent much time with me knows I can probably find something to talk about every day – even if it’s about nothing.  But it would be a lot more interesting for me (and hopefully you) if I have something worthwhile to share, so let’s see what happens. Oh, and somewhere just before Thanksgiving I’ll even hit on Post #100, and that will deserve some kind of giveaway.

This weekend was not much for big projects. A few little things (some you’ll see later this week), including some silly bits, and some sorting, cleaning and generally putting life right. There was even some extra sleep involved. It was perfect.

Studio news: I needed another pincushion. I know, I just made one. But it turned out to be too big for the storage box I got for my sewing-to-go kit, so I made another one. And yes, this was more digging around in my little scrap jar:

It’s even reversible:

I had binding on it, but I was really struggling to have it come out nicely so I took it off and just had at it with the pinking shears.  Good enough, seriously. And then, because that wasn’t challenging enough, I finally got around to making a new outfit for Fiona (this is the silly part). I really slaved over these, let me tell you:

I have itty bitty snaps and buttons and rickrack on order from an Etsy shop, so they’ll get a bit of embellishment before I’m through. Right now she’s naked in a box headed via USPS to Jess of Milky Robot fame for a custom, so there’s no rush. Fiona may also have a playmate coming soon….and  now I’m starting to question how much of this I really want you to know about my Blythe obsession. Moving on.

Come visit me later this week for all kinds of fun – wait, come visit me every day this month! Wishing you a terrific Monday ~ who doesn’t love a do-over, right?

I’ve been wanting to make a pincushion, but I can’t find my favorite pattern (The tiny little log cabin one!)
